i am a bit confused. what is the Mag 7 for? gravity would do the job if you just raise the 32g brute just above the minimum water level in the sump. put a drain on the Brute at the very bottom with a ball valve leading to the sump. that way when you are done siphoning the tank and need to put the water back in all you have to do is turn the ball valve on the Brute drain. the water will fill into the sump.

not sure what the red line at the top of the Brute is doing. the only line i have going into my WC system is from the RO/DI.

i think you are making this way to complicated. let gravity do the work for you.

the only reason why you would need a pump is for siphoning out detritus from the bottom of the sump.

The Mag 7 serves several purposes. It can siphon out the skimmer and return sections of the sump. It can siphon the tank for cleaning. It mixes salt water for WC (hence the red line going back into the top of the Brute. It also wastes the water to an outside drain. I am working in a small area where I don't have the option to raise the Brute up that high. The sump is only going to be 4-5" off of the floor.

i find using pumps clean out areas tough. i like to adjust the flow and using a pump was too annoying for my tastes.

the mixing thing is a good idea. you will also need a heater. i think you will find that keeping track of all of those valves will be more difficult than you think. i have trouble remembering my 2 valves on my system now.

in concept it will work well. just more complicated than i would make it.

A bit overly complicated in my opinion as well but clearly well thought out. I don't see any design flaws, it should work well. As long as you feel up to the task of keeping track of all of that plumbing I don't see any problems. Let us know how it works out. Good luck.

well thought out for sure. like others have said, complicated. But since it is your design, it would be easier for you to keep track of than it would for any of us. Couple questions though:

How are you going to keep tack ofwater volume? I mean, how are you going to make sure you put back the same as what you took out?

also, afe the blue pipesthat hang in your sump going to be ridgid? if you are going to use it to siphon out an area, you might consider using flexible hose. That way, when you turn the pump on, you could use the hose almost like a shop vac and clean the gunk out of the sump no matter where it falls.

Good plan though.
