Milky white?

I've seen bacterial blooms and occasionally unicellular algae blooms turn tank water cloudy, but milky is something else.

How big was the anemone, and do you have clams and corals in the tank? It's possible the stress induced by the anemone's introduction ha triggered the release of gametes (sperm) into the water, but MILKY white water is pretty funky

I might go for heavy skimming, and a series of water changes, just to play it safe!

Can you provide more info on the incident, and how the corals are reacting to it?

Along the lines of horge's question I have a few to add to help solve your concern..

- Did you add the water the Carpet came with?

- What other fish / Corals do you have in your tank? How many?

- Do you have a "cleanup crew"? How many of each?

- Do you have Live Sand / Live Rock? How much?

- What is the size of your tank?

- How is your tank setup (e.g. lighting, sump, skimmer...etc)

- Have you added any new supplements / filter media recently that is not in your normal dosing schedule?

Answering these questions may resolve questions people may have. Personally, I think these are general questions to help fellow Reefers solve some of many questions we encounter in this wonderful hobby of ours To Be Continued...

Do you have a refugium w/ Caulerpa? Especially C. Racemosa? This stuff "goes sexual" and induces huge amounts of (non-harmful) material that makes the water milky...
