Water Flow

Hello all. Long time lurker not much poster here...
I am sure my old post is not remembered but, I had spoken about the cracking of my 24 nano-cube. Well I have a 40 gallon up now with 40 pounds of various live rock types. I got lucky and walked into my local LFS as someone was bringing in 80 pounds of already cured rock from his tanks. I have a sump and protein skimmer running all seems good thus far. I do have the few corals in that survied my nano explosion (I had 2 crack on me). They consist of some yellow polyps (good for a newb like me), some xenia that I don't think I could kill even if I tried, and a small piece of white star that looks great. No Fish. Yes Yes Yes I see the addiction of pictures here.. I need to get a new card reader for my cam so I can move them to my comp. Wowo this is getting long ..
Had to stop that paragraph and go into my question. I am getting some algae on my sand bed. I am thinking my tank flow is not enough. Is there any kind of formula to go by to figure up tank flow? Also I wish I could spend the money on a Tunze pump/powerhead but, alas the wife does have me on a budget. Is there something close to the low energy use high yield as them? The only flow I have right now comes from a 350gph pump running from my sump. Any suggestions on powerheads and flow to get for them would be greatly appreciated. And I promise to do some pictures of my meager tank...

Thanks Casey! That looks to be exactly what I am looking for. Now another question. I have a ric that has attached itself to a rock on the backside. Is this going to be his new home or is there anyway for me to move him?

You can move it gently pry it off with your fingernail and reattach with a small drop of crazy glue gel.

no flow control knob as far as I know, they produce a good wide flow pattern like a Tunze, not like a jet stream from a powerhead.

For my cichlid tank I have had http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Produc...&N=2004+113040
running for 4+ years. Cheap powerhead that has done great! The big draw back though is it is abit bulky. I hope I get the same out of these Seios.

It says it is 620 GPH. I was thinking to turn it down so it would be like 100GPH
I hope it is not to fast of a flow!
Thanks
