Water Change question

when doing a water change is it safe to lower the water line below a coral for a short time?

A short answer would be yes. Corals are exposed to air at low tide for far longer periods of time than the duration of a water change.

HAve you got a sump and if so, is it large enough to do a change in it?
When I do mine, I just stop the return pump and empty the sump then refill it. This helps to get out all the ditreus.
As for your question, a short time should be fine.

You can , I do it all the time, alot of corals are shipped in hardly any water. They have to stay wet. If it take alot of time and You have MH or intense light turn them off.

Depends on the critter being exposed to air. Some are fine, some might be badly harmed with just a little dessication. Definiately turn off intense lighting.
