Water change Question

Did my usual 20% and as I was doing it,White stringy stuff is floating everywhere and now stuck on the rock and tank.I suspect it's undisolved calcium or something? All the parameters are fine except for the calcium drop.I use seachem salt with no calcium. Can't siphon it all without taking in too much water. Will this go away?

how long did you allow the salt to mix?
have you tried to make a small batch up aagin to see if it does it again?
can you get a picture of it?

probably one of two things (or a combo of both).

1. Blown/stirred up detritus sticking to patches of algae on the glass.

or

2. You have (note sure the real term), what I call spit worms. They leave a strand of mucus from their mouth blowing in the current. It catches things, which they later pull in and eat. When I do a water change, I see ALL the spit worms I have. There's this trail of caught detritus (white/gray stuff) forming strings all over the place. They're harmless, I believe, but a bit annoying to look at.
