water change question

I have decided to go bare-bottom on my 75g..I have to tear the tank down and scrub everthing,so i was wondering should I keep some of the water that is the tank now? The tank as of know has a algae problems would saving some of the water in there corrupt the new water?

I have 50g of ro/di saltwater mixed already,with the rocks and stuff I would not need much more to top it off..Does the older water in the tank have nutrients I want to save and using new water will that mess up my Ph and Alk ?

Read the stickys at the top of the bare bottom forums. It has some great information about how to go BB and should answer some of your questions. If you don't do things right, going BB may not be any better to help your current situation than what your doing now
