Water Alarm

I will be setting up a 75gal tank in my family room in about 2 weeks. Underneath this family room is a nice finished part of our basement.

DO THEY MAKE A WATER ALARM I CAN PUT UNDER THE CARPET NEXT TO THE TANK....SO IF A LEAK HAPPENS.... IT WILL !SCREAM! LIKE CRAZY SO I DONT HAVE WATER DAMAGE GOING DOWN TO THE CEILING OF MY FINISHED BASEMENT?????

yes they do make something like that. it is a moisture alram. i belive you can get them at major hardware stores or maybe at a large plumbing store.

when you add plumbing to the tank, make sure to add turn off valves to bothte return and drain pipes. if a problem does happen you will want to stop the watergoing to the sump if the power goes out

You mean this one??

I THINK I WILL BUY TWO AND PLACE AT EITHER END OF THE 48IN WIDE TANK INBETWEEN THE CARPET AND THE PADDING.

I HAD A SMALL LEAK FROM A SKIMMER ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO AND IT SOAKED MY CARPET PADDING. IF I PUT THIS SENSOR ON THE PADDING IT SHOULD BE GOOD ENOUGH EARLY DETECTION.

that is it, I keep mine set up under the rubbermaid while I am making RO/DI water. With the extension cord the sensor can be placed anywhere you want it to be.
