Water
Whenever I do a water change I have to use my usual tap water, can I find RO/DI water at my local grocery store? If so what kind?
Also are Petcos pre-mixed saltwater RO/DI water?

hmm , you can use the bottle RO water but test it first!
the petco stuff, you should ask what / how they make it. also check the LFS around you, may make and sell it
a RO unit is not that costly

What Tim said.
An RO/DI unit is still the best bet, imho...and will save you money in the long run.

Distilled water can hold you over until you get an RO/DI unit. The distilled water can become costly depending on your tank volume and change frequency. Whatever you do STOP USING TAP!!

Its not tap water, I appreciate your input though.
Can I have a link to a good system? Does it go on my tank?

Hmmm confused on that one.
No the RO/DI does not go on your tank. You can install it directly into your copper piping at a sink or attach it to a faucet or do what I do and set it up in your laundry room and hook it up to the cold side...I'll post a pic is your interested.

Be careful with "drinking water", most of it is processed by RO, but then has minerals added back in for taste, so it won't be 0 TDS

I believe Dasani uses Potassium Chloride for taste, but no matter what brand they usually add some type of salt so it tastes good to us.
Now I am curious as to if anyone has ever bothered tasting their RO/DI water?

I only run RO no DI (gives me a near 0 TDS) and the taste is not bad...it doesn't have much taste really.

I haven't tasted mine yet, but was also assuming that it would be tasteless.
Either that or it will taste like chicken like everything else does.
