Drink RO here, and so do the dogs n parrots here, along with cooking with it. On a well here(not all that bad, but i got a RO/DI when i moved here, for the tanks, and us.)
Tastes better than most anything on the shelves IMO.
(which a lot of times are a municipal water source run thru a RO at best) BTW: "spring" water most always comes from a well (underground spring

)
Some 25 yrs or so ago, there was a local bottling company located in a suburb south of Chicago that touted it had the best tasting water, and advertised it won awards for such. Then I think it was Hinkley and Schmit(sp?)that wanted to buy the company,,went to check the springwater source(well) that they said they used for the water source and found cobwebs and other signs of nonuse for a long time.Then they asked about the more than normal water lines etc, in the bottling facility. "that's only used to wash the bottles(back then glass bottles were used=deposit type).Come to find out they used Chicago
tap water then run thru a carbon filter.
Been that way for many yrs. it turned out. during all that time, they still were getting accolades for it's "great " taste.Needless to say, the sale never went thru, and think legal proceedings occurred.(return of intent to purchase $$)Since the cat was out of the bag, the company did damage control , and changed the label from "spring" to bottled water, and lasted a few more yrs b4 closing.
I let coworkers/non believers taste my before and after (RO) water, and they usually can't believe it's the same water,(RO)
Drinking DI water is said to be not healthy for prev mentioned reasons, but i feel with with everything else we ingest, we prob get enough minerals etc, to make up for it's lack in DI.(Tho i would never tell anyone to drink DI , just cuz it's not worth the chance.)
