Warts, cysts or tumors

Please excuse a freshwater fish question, but I know many of you are knowledgable about all types of tropicals.

I think my female black widow tetra has either warts, tumors or cysts under it's skin at the end of its body near its tail.

I have had it in a hospital tank for over a week, and treated it with two different types of antibiotics (Maracyn Plus, and Kanacyn), with a water change in between.

Nothing seems to have changed, and the fish has not eaten since it's been in the hospital tank. It has been swimming fine and always looked otherwise healthy. I don't know if it stopped eating because it was separated from its male companion in a community tank, but it is almost as if it has lost any awareness of food.

Do you think I should put it back in the community tank? I am worried that it will not last much longer not eating and has probably endured enough with the treatments and isolation. On the other hand, I don't know whether the cause of the warts, cysts or tumors could affect other fish.

Thanks.

It could be just warts, fish do get them. Warts could spread to your other fish and be unsightly but not dangerous. Maybe you should try putting the male in with the female in the QT and see if that perks her up?

Thanks.

Any particular treatment you would suggest that I haven't tried?

I'm sorry; I've never had to deal with it so I'm just not sure. If it is indeed just warts, supposedly in animals they will build up resistance to the virus that causes the warts and they will eventually go away.
