Want color

Ok my tank is a 75 gal and I all the coral I have are doing very good
But I'm seeing some very pretty coral in other post and now I want some too lol.
I use 2-65 W PCs, and 1 NO lites. Rite now all I have are ;

Xenia, doing great!
Green star polops
1 big colt coral
1 brown star polop
1 Frogspawn
Yellow polops
Green button polops
Severa mushrooms
I also have an unidentified colt looking coral. and its doing very good also.

But anyway Ive seen like yellow leathers, I think thats what they are. And a pink colt. Just wondering where you guys get all your coral. I have a limited supply around here.

Also give me some of the names of the low lite corals you all have PLEASE

Thanks

Hey Alf

I'm not sure what kind of colt that is either. That's exactly the reason why you and I need to know more about taxonomy Folks that have studied the finer points and know the scientific names seem to be able to ID things perfectly (or so it seems to me hehehehe). In any case, your clown sure does like to cuddle up in it

Let's see if someone else can take a stab at it.

Several possibilities exist, but taxo is a nightmare.
Alcyonium,Cladiella(these feel slippery to the touch)
Nephthea,Lemnalia, and Capnella( rough texture due to abundant schlerites)
Sorry I can get any closer than that
FWIW the yellow "Fiji" leathers seam to like the ligher light (MH)

Agreed on the yellow fiji leathers, they need a lot of light. If you want some bright color and don't mind feeding the coral every other day or so, you might try sun polyps, Tubastrea faulkneri. Bright orange with yellow polyps, very pretty and they don't need light, they depend on captured food.

You can find mushrooms in practically every color and texture. Shrooms and zoanthids can give you great coverage and color; putting several different colors on a rock is a great look.
