W/C water,,,P-Head or aeration?

Been doing it with a powerhead for all these years,,,
just wonderin,,,,any advantage of using aeration vs. powerheads?
the powerhead i'm using in my 55g rubbermaid barrel does move water very well,,,straight up from the bottom, and really turns the water over at the surface,,,have no problem w/salt mixing-dissolving
this way,,,,

just wondering if aeration is a better way to go than P-heads,,,
if so , then i gotta get a pump that'll push air out at a depth of close to three ft.,,,,,

Thanks Jerel, just had that ol thought bubble creep into my gourd,,,so it looks like i spend $$ on impeller replacement (on plenty of PH's)vs. a deep water air pump,,,,

same here Jerel,
what i was getting at in my question was,
any advantage using a airstone over powerheads?
aeration vs. just water movement for mixing correctly?
like i posted i use a honkin' p-head for my 55g Rubbermaid,,a Rio 2500,,really roils the water,,
just wonderin' if aeration does something better for mixing than a p-head,,,
