Ya, I tend to dose vodka a few times a week to myself also so I have a regular supply on hand, That's why I was curious about the possible extra benefits

I ad kahlua and cream to mine though!!!

Probably similar to dosing sugar... promotes the growth of bacteria that will consume the nitrates.

IMO it sounds like a waste of perfectly good Vodka... the fish would never appreciate it!!!

The fish might bump into the glass occasionally, though. A little comic relief in the tank. I hear tangs can be mean drunks. The clownfish sometimes get a little sentimental, then there are the snails who fall off the glass occasionally. Just don't let them get started on the karaoke.
