VISA commercial - where is that Aquarium?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMsveqwyUgE

Where is the Aquarium used in this commercial? Or was it all Computer-Generated-Images?

I've 'googled' and can find info on Producers, Directors, everyone involved in the commercial but nothing says where it was filmed.

...just curious if someone on this board is saying, "ah! ha! thats the blahblah aquairum, i've been there."

i think that it is a composite of various images, very few from real aquariums.

the first half of the commercial is definitely video from divers in the open Ocean with a heavy dose of CGI (computer generated images).....

but the second half shows the inside of some aquarium.... just curious where that aquairum was located.

Actually, the final shot looks like the theatre in the Ga Aquarium however I believe the inhabitants look much like the Maui aquarium I visited last spring.

Re: Filming location for the Visa aquarium commercial

If you Google the Visa Aquarium location question, you can read responses that assert locations all over North America, and include: Georgia, Chicago, Maui, California, and Canada.

So what is the straight scoop?

According to an inquiry response from the Visa website... "The 'Aquarium' commercial spot was shot at Two Oceans Aquarium in Cape Town, South Africa." The Two Oceans Aquarium also reaffirmed that...."Yes, parts of it were shot here, some in Mozambique, some in the Red Sea, with the added enhancements of special effects."

Thumbs up

Visa aquarium nostalgic substitute

Awesome commercial has a nostalgic emotion to it, however South Africa is a long way for us to travel with our 1yr old. My current favorite place and I still get the nostalgic emotion - Atlantis, in the Bahamas - Great aquriums and sea life. The resort is a short trip to Nassau's airport then a short drive to Atlantis resort. I love this place, includes - great aquriums and sea life, casino, beach all around, several pools, several water slides, lazy and a fast river, restaurants, club and several teen activities. The food is okay by Houston standards; they could improve on this. Many of the reviews complain about the cost of food but take into consideration that everything has to be shipped. There's a grocery store on the way to the resort, we stop here and stock on water and munchies, saves us a few bucks and time from searching. There are different levels of hotels, the more you pay the more luxury you get but regardless you still have the same friendly staff and nostalgic feeling.
