How deep is the Hex? I am wondering because I am looking for something that I could light up half of my tank with and was wondering if anyone knew how deep one of these would penetrate the water.

I got that fixture for my nano last year and it was defective,
wouldnt start after 1 hour of the ballasts warming up. Swapped it for JBJ pcs and now the fans are shot after less that a year. I dont like JBJ at al and I think it is low quality.
coralife makes clamps on mh's as well

or you could go with one pendant like this hung from above

both look good.
if the current one will fit your hex tank then I would go with current.
or Why not go with the hamilton reef star pedant?

ID get that advanced clip on. Ive had the Current USA fixtures of a few sorts, and theyve been solid though. Just make sure you dont use their 10k bulb, its nasty yellow.
