Very strange!!!!
There`s something in my tank that looks like a worm covered with crushed coral. I do have a thin layer of crushed coral but just can`t understand what this cold be.I`m a SW newbie since November of 2004 so forgive mt silly questions.

may be some form of tube worm...some have coverings made from sand cemented together rather than a harder solid tube.
how big is the guy?

My guess is when the worm comes out, you see a pale white string for a "worm". If so, you have no worries. The crushed coral tube is nothing more then the worm's mucus slime coat creating a "glue" to cement together near by crushed coral and sand.  I would share the name, but I am blanking right now.

I have no idea what the critter is though. A search revealed nothing and it will be educational.
