Velocity T4 or Poseidon PS4 pumps

who has one of these pumps ?
and how did you plumb it ?

as both the in- and are not threaded, i'm looking for any pointers on what material i can use to plumb this pump.
will 1" flexible pvc work ? secured with a hose clamp ?

any hints/tips/tricks/pictures will be appreciated.

yea, that is why i have gone with all T3's or T1's i really like having threaded connectors.

1" flex PVC should work. i would just bring the pump to HD/Lowes and test what they have. i am always bringing in crazy stuff to size. they look at you funny for a second, but they will get over it.

i guess that i'll just order it and see what fits. i'll make it work somehow.

oh, this means that i have decided to go with a T4 for a CLS.

T1 for the skimmer
T2 for a CLS
T3 for sump return (tee'd off to a chiller, phosban and carbon reactor)
T4 for second CLS

i wonder if i'll still need heaters

even with all of those pump the skimmer air intake will still make more noise than all of the pumps combined.

I have 2 VT-4's and I got flex pvc slightly smaller than what I needed, heated and stretched it over the flange, used hose clamps and it worked like a charm. (can't remember the exact size, but that stuff will really stretch) They are the quietest pumps I own. THey are also HOT. You will NOT need a heater, but you might need a chiller.

thanks! sounds good.

does anyone happen to know if it's possible (or OK) to glue flexible PVC into a regular PVC fitting ? and if so, does the flexible pvc go into the hard PVC, or does it go on the outside ? in other words, which one if F and which one is M ?

oh, and i WILL need a chiller. even without all those pumps, it will get pretty warm.

it works the same as normal pipe....INSIDE the fitting.......... Just make sure to use lots of primer and glue and immediately after putting the flex pipe in the fitting socket, look at the joint from two angles to make sure it is seated flush...if it isnt it needs straightened immediately before it sets.......

many people dont pay attention to this and end up with water leaks and or more commonly microbubbles becasue their joints are crooked so the entire surface area of both the pipe and the fitting arent touoching........... Flex pipe has a tendency to sit funny if you dont pay attention.....
