Uv Sterlizer Starting To Kill Corals (help!)

3 weeks into running an 18watt UV Sterilizer on my 75gal and now all my ICH/algea/phosphate problems are gone (yeah!)....

.....BUT my LTA, my Green Leather and Xenias as of Tonight are starting to look SHRIVELED-UP.....YIKES!!!!!!

I have the 18watt UV running 24hrs/7days-a-week on a 100GPH pump....

AM I STERLIZING THE WATER TOOOOOOO MUCH?!?!?!

WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS HERE (if I'm killing all the GOOD algea/bacteria)????
1) put the UV on a timer and run it certain hours of the day?
2) put the UV on a timer and run it every other day?

3) if I continue on this path and the UV kills off all my 'softies' will it start killing off my LIVE ROCK (coraline) also...to the point where it will BLEACH out my rock?? if so, I'll be pissed beyond belief and probably QUIT the whole hobby....

Help Me..Help Me...

I doubt the UV is kiiling your stuff.

100gph is really slow flow through that UV though!
You can run the UV on a timer say 16 on 8 off. But I would just run it 24/7, try dosing a little filter feeding food and target feed the BTA

What skimmer?

NO

5'10, 175, blonde/blue

You have another problem going on there if you think the UV solved your phosphate problems. A lot of leathers, gorgs, etc will close up to shed when they don't like their water, or to just clean off. Anemones and LPS will draw up to burp and clean.

Check your water. If I had to guess, I would say you're tanks dirty.

yea, i really doubt your tank is to clean. Xenia are funky anyway, so i would not take to much stock in them looking funny.

how long have you had the corals/anemone? what kind of lighting do you have on the tank?
