uv plug in hot

I have an aquanetics 25IL quartz sterilizer. The plug in feels hot to the touch. Is this normal? I was trying to find out how many watts it is (calculator) Also, my chiller says 115~60Hz and 100~50Hz, how do I convert to watts?

Amps X Volts = Watts

got my head back there and it says 3.4 amps so I figure 391 watts. EEK!! hopefully it doesn't run that often.

Thats one thing about all these set up, you have to be careful with the cords you use get ones that are the right length, and for things that draw alot of current try to plug direct into wall outlet and not use cords for them.

as far as hot hot that is and being normal I don't know.

The UV is 391W???? I can't believe a UV runs at 3+ amps, are we talking about 2 different things here?

Anyway, unless the Plug is a power brick (one of the big square ones with a built in transformer or ballast) it should NOT be hot. That indicates that either,

1. You are pulling more power than it is capable of handling.
2. You have resistance somewhere, bad connection in the plug, corroded terminals inside your wall outlet or on the plug prongs, worn out outlet ect,...

I would disconnect it immediately unless it is one of those power bricks I was talking about until you can get this sorted out! Have someone who knows something about electronics come over and show them if you have any doubt about it.

Whiskey

Question

Can you feel your Breaker that it's running off of? is it a 20amp or a 30amp? and is the Breaker it's self hot when you have everything running? could be a week Breaker or to small to handle the load.
Brent.
