Using Live rock in sump.

So I have some extra Live rock that I would like to remove from my tank.. Its just some really ugly looking rock. My question is I have read plenty on using broken/fragments of live rock in the sump for more filtration. What do I need to do here? Where would I put it. I have attached a pic of the back of my tank let me know what you think.

bad idea, good idea? It seems like a waste to just take it out. Where would i put it? Like where figure 7 & 8 are? Thanks for the info..

If you put it in the sump w/o any flow to keep the rock clean you might run into problems. You can always do a little more maintenance to keep it clean.
I would try to sell/trade it.

You could place it in the rear compartments, but then you have to siphon out the chamber during water changes otherwise your pump will become clogged from the detritus buildup because of the lack of water flow.
