US vrs, Japan

I have heard conflicting opinions regarding the American made Iwaki pumps compared to the Japanese made Iwakis. Ones side says the American are inferior to the Japanese pumps, the other opinion is the two are the same, only the price is different. I can assume that import fees and tarrifs will increase the Japanese version cost but are they really better?

(A)WMD40RLT = $140

Any more facts/opinions/experience to resolve this international trade debate?

I think I answered this post for you before, the WD series are more expensive only because of the tarrifs imposed on them, I have owned 1 of each, they are both identical in every aspect including noise db.The only difference is one is made in Japan, one is made in USA.

I know this because I owned both at one point, ended up selling the WD version off and keeping the WMD version.
