Urgent--skimmer No Bubbles!!

OK, early this am...around 3a EST (don't ask) I was going past my tank when I noticed it was quieter than usual...so I checked to make sure everything was working correctly...and my skimmer isn't making "bubbles" in the canister.

This being my first "in sump/below the tank" skimmer, I'm not sure what to do (I didn't put this "tank" together myself). I checked the pvc pipe, pump, all the attachments and everything appears to be working/attached. There is water going through the skimmer, and when I try to adjust the line for the "bubbles"I it isn't making the bubbles to get the "gunk" to the top and into the cup.

Is this normal...I've never not had the bubbles going. Assistance is greatly appreciated...

yep!

if it is a venturi style skimmer than check to make sure the venturi valve is not clogged. also make sure the venturi valve is not submerged in the sump.
