Upgrading My New Tank

I have a 30 gallon tank with a penguin 200 biowheel power filter, a 20 watt flourscent light, and a 600gph powerhead. In the tank I have ~40lbs of live rock, ~15lbs of crushed live rock, and 1 yellow-tail damsel.

I would like to move towards having coral in this tank along with a few more fish but I know I am going to need more equipment. I found 130 watt lighting set up for a good price, is this to much? Can I get away with 60watts? Also do I have to have a protein skimmer as I really want to buy an aqua C remora but it is not in my budget. Also because I do not have a trickle filter is my power filter going to filter out the coral food floating in the water?

My goal is to be able to get coral in the tank around new years but I would not be able to afford a protien skimmer. Specifically I would like to have a aneome, but some hints on good beginner corals would be nice. I also would like to be able to add a yellow tang, a clown fish, and a fire shrimp. Is this a reasonable goal? What steps should I take?

Thanks for your advice.

You sould look into T5HO light system,if you want aneome you need at least that lighting and a good skimmer(for good water quilty ) a good RO/DI filter. As for the fish,30 gallon is way to small for any Tang.

The question is if I keep the fish and coral count low until I have the money for the skimmer will I get by?

What fish would you recommend? Maybe just True Pecula Clownfish, the fire shrimp, and the damsel until I can get the skimmer, and then the yellow tang? I know that 30 gallons issmall for a tang but alot of places I have read it hasnt been off the scale for them.

I found a t5ho 130 watt system that will be my next purchase. Im just wondering what swimmers would be a good fit for this tank? I have the damsel and will be adding a true percula and a fire shrimp. Which take care of ledge and bottom feeders. Now i would realy like one swimmer. Any thoughts?
