upgrading

The tank you see here has 2x65watt power compact lights. im taking those out and i am planning to put a metal halide in there. im going to make the canopy taller so i have more room between the surface of the water and the bulb(i dont want to get a chiller). I know how to go about building it, but i think it would look sort of ugly if the canopy was rediculously tall. does n e one have any suggestions

it is going to be odd looking if you make the canopy taller. you could always just go with that and make the canopy all the way up to the ceiling. that way it will look like a column in the room with a tank in it. i think it would look less funny.
