Upgraded Lights

We finally did the purchase to upgrade my 24g aquapod lights. I have had the stock hood lights on until now. We purchased the sun pod 150 watts

My question is probably silly to you all. I heard that we can only leave the main lights on for 1 hour the first two days and then increase another hour for two days and so on. What about the 2 led lights? There is the blue moon light I am guessing is only at night. What about the white led light? Can I leave that on all day and just turn it off at night? Just curious so I can be doing the right combo of lights

Any help is appreciated

Thanks, Tami

The white and blue are LED moon lights,.. depending on what look you like you can use the blue or white, or both. I run my moon lights 24/7 but it would be better for me to give the tank total darkness from time to time.

Acclamating the coral by slowly ramping up the photo period like you suggest is a good idea. What you suggest is going rather fast, but the 150W is not too powerfull so you can probably get away with it,.. just watch the corals really close to make sure there adjusting well,.. if not then slower light acclamation is a good idea.

Did you hang the sunpod or are you setting it on the tank? I hung mine from the ceiling so I just kept them high the first week then lowered them to where I wanted them to end up
I run the blue leds 24/7
the white leds on 10 - 10
MH on 11-9

Dobejazz,

I am sitting them on the tank... Is that bad? When the lights are on they look really good. The corals seem to be happy so far, but it has only been 2 days. There are not many corals in there and the ones we have are pretty hardy. I am so excited to add more things when I get the ones I have adjusted

I like the light schedule you have. Seems simple but nice.

Thanks I will try to post a picture tomorrow with the lights on.
