updated nano pics

12g aquapod and 12g nano cube
added a blue mushroom rock and zoa to the nano cube and a semi green bubble coral to the aquapod, starting to get diatoms on the sand finally
the nano cube doesnt have the actinic lighting so the zoa's cant glow
the aquapod has the actinic so thats cool
both are fishless (may remain that way) just have snails and hermits for now

How do you control the diatom growth? I have a 125 gallon reef tank with sand and I would like to keeo my sand white or as close to white as possible. I purchased two sand sifting see stars and have some sand sifting snails but they are minimally effective at controlling it.

diatoms will go away in time
but to keep your tank snow white (which is how i like it myself) then the only sure way to do this is to either stir it up lightly yourself or get a sand sifting goby
i have a bullet goby aka banded sleeper goby, and he keeps my 55g sand snow white. it looks great, downside is that he tortures the corals by spitting sand all over them

Are there other types of sand sifting gobies that would also work? Could you please name some for me.

sure
theres Two spot goby which stays really small great for nano tanks
diamond watchman goby (Valencienna puellaris) not to be confused with orange spotted goby which is a shrimp goby (wont sift sand just makes a hill)
tiger watchman goby
sleeper gold head goby a great looking fish
engineer goby (not a true goby i dont think but sifts sand)
sleeper railroad goby
theres alot of sleeper species all are sand sifters

Couple of more questions:
1) Can you house more than one of the same species? I am thinking of ordering 2 Sleeper Gold Head Gobies (Valencienna strigata).

2) Would they/it be compatable with a Hawk Fish, Mandarin Goby, Perc Clowns, Yellow Tang, Chromis, Anthias?

a goby will mix fine with all the fish you mentioned
being you have a large tank 2 gobies will do fine
just be prepared for some corals to get sand on them
they shake it off but it usually just happends all over again
