Very sweet stuff. Amazing colors and shapes. What temperature range exactly defines "cold" water??

Is it just the novelty of something new or is that tank simply that beautiful? I keep coming back to check out those pics. Truly impressive.

that tank is coming along really nice steve ! its just amazing the creatures that get over looked due to water tempatures ! now that its has been up and running for awhile have you found it harder or easier to maintain than your reef tank ? has the hubanstry been greater or less ? does the skimmer operate the same as with the warmer temp tanks or did you find you needed to dial it back as it would seem that there would be more oxygen molecules in the cold water so it would foam much easier ! would you recomend this type of tank to anyone or do you feel you haven't had it running long enough to make a judgement ? again beautiful tank ! another awe inspiring creation !

Where is the fish in pic #1 from. If you collected that in puget sound I thimk I might have to move back to the northwest. What did you get from tasmania? Hmmm... I have a new chiller coming in the mail. Hmmm....

Just love the tank man. Cudos to you!

Just a great looking tank. This really adds a new side to reef keeping. Look forward to updates.

The boxfish is indeed from southern Australia. The tank has proven to be easier to run than its warm water sps cousin. There are no additives required since nothing is depeted, no reactors necessary, no calcium deposits in pumps, and no strong lighting. The lights can be kept low since nothing is photosynthetic. The skimmer works just as it does in warm water. The only negatives are.... the numbness in my arm that I get when cleaning..... having to feed the anemones frequently since they are not photosynthetic......and an overall lower pH since little photosynthesis is taking place (which I overcome by using kalk for make up water)

Steve, that is just gorgeous! I love it! Do you have a wide angle shot of the tank? Where do you have this one set up since the other tank is mounted in the garage with a pictureframe window inside?
