Unknown mussel bad ?

I just realized that I have what appears to be an... oyster ? mussel ? clam ? in my tank. Can you tell my idea of seafood doesn't not include anything that sucks it way along the ocean floor? About two inches long I guess. Not like the pretty clams I see in the hobby, hence why I never noticed it before. Should I remove it? Feed it? Ignore it ?

It prolly a harmless filter feeder but a lot of these mystery hitchers don't survive long term. Keep an eye on it and yank it if it looks bad

I also have clams of all sizes and not the expensive ones of coarse.
I have 2 that are a about 2 inches long and have had them for quite some time so you never know though how long they may survive like Doug1 says.
It seems like I spot a new every now and then coming out of my LR so just keep an eye on them as they are a part of the reef. Johnny

I have some filter-feeding bivalve squatters that have been around for a while too. I swear one of them is a common mussel (if there is such a thing). Others include some smaller ones, about 10-20mm across, with thin, irregularly shaped shells and one little yellow jagged one that climbed up the back of the tank one night! I think he's set up shop behind my overflow box. I thing this aspect of the hobby - finding things that you have never seen before and need a book to classify - has been the most rewarding to me. So far none of them has done me wrong.
