ultimate 55g set up?

i have a 55 right now. eventually when i buy the house im living in, ill upgrade to a 125, but my question is whats the best set up i could have for the 55? (i have a couple of years to practice for the big tank!!) $ is no object although my wife would disagree!

I'm not sure what you are looking for. Types of fish / coral? Type of equipment.....

If you want to save money in the long run and have a great tank to boot. Buy everything sized for the 125 so you don't have to throw it all away.

im talking equipment. theres so many names and gadgets floating around its easy to get confused. this would be a reef tank by the way. sorry for being vague i just expect evryone to read my mind!

First off I would strongly recommend VHO lighting on a 660 ballast, you can drive longer bulbs when you get the bigger tank.
If you are looking at getting a skimmer, dont go cheap, get one that will be adequate on a 125 right from the start
Most of the other stuff can be used as well, heaters ets, tho you might want to add another for the big tank.
If you use a sump now, you will prolly want a bigger return pump on the bigger tank but you could plan for an extra bulkhead fitting and use the one you have now on a closed loop, rather than adding more powerheads
