Does ANYBODY know right off how long the warranties last on Oceanic Aquariums.....I noticed today the top molding around the tank is cracked and split in one corner, and that the tank is just slightly bowed (maybe 1/8"). Is this going to be a problem in any of your opinions? Will they fix/replace this??? Hoping it lasts through atleast this week, as I won't be around to do anything with it!!!

The warranty was 15 years up until about 12/99 then went to 5 years. I would contact them and ask what you should do.

Eeeek Wagz, that stinks! I think their warranty is 3-5 years, but don't quote me on that. You will probably be ok if it's just the molding. I wouldn't leave it like that for too long though. Here is their website http://www.oceanicsystems.com Good luck!

Unfortunately their website has been under construction for over 8 months. The Oceanic warranty is a sore spot with me. When I was shopping around for a tank all of the Oceanic tanks I saw in LFS's had the 15 year warranty sticker on them. No one had the size I wanted in stock so in June 2000 I ordered one. When it came in it had the 5 year warranty sticker on it. Even the dealer didn't know they were changing the warranty.

IMO, 8 months to update a business's website is lame.

Try asking your lfs for the name of the local oceanic rep (or call oceanic for the contact name) - I had to do this for an issue I had with a marineland product. The rep was MORE than helpful - and swapped out a tank for me....perhaps you can get them to do the same for you....sales people need to keep the neighborhood consumers happy so you keep supporting their lfs customers.....
