Uh Oh Heat!!!!!

During a nearby T-Storm last night, my power kicked off and back on....turns out the AC is out. New fuses and kicking the breaker hasn't done a thing. Right now, I'm trying to find an AC repairman who will come out on Sunday.
It's about 92f outside now and inside is up to 82. Meanwhile, I've got all available fans on and floating bags of ice cubes. Temp in the reef is up to 84; Eel tank is 85. If they don't get any higher I think everything will be alright but it sure is a PITA to try to get something done on Sunday!

Oh no, Dick! That's awful! Yes indeed it's a PITA to get stuff fixed on off hours. Too bad RickO lives so far away. Great reef buddy and HVAC man, Rick is.

I'm crossin' my fingers and toes for ye, Dick.

Bummer Dick! I know you have probably already checked but make sure you push hard on the switches on the breaker box, making sure the switch makes contact all the way at the end. Sometimes they aren't quite right and they don't make contact by just flipping them.

I hope it cools down tonight so you can get the house cooled off and I hope you can get the repairman out soon!

Hi Dick,

Sorry I couldn't reply sooner but I was working today.

Give me some info. I'm assuming that the unit isn't running since you said you checked the fuses. Did you get a direct hit at your house? There is possibly a breaker at the outdoor electrical disconnect near the condensing unit so you need to check the outdoor and indoor fuses/breaker. Is the indoor unit running?

Maybe we can work through this to save you some $$$ and aggrivation.

Rick

I have heard that if you take a cooler, buy a block of ice and run about 20 feet of flexable tubing and pump water aroun the ice and back into the tank it will really help top keep it cool.

Thanks everybody, the AC is back on!!!
The repairman just left, turned out it a wire was burned at its connection inside the control panel on the side of the unit.
Rick, I really appreciate the offer....Next time, I'll call you! I can fix a few things if I know where to look.
Thanks again,
Dick
