Two Pairs of Clowns in a 75?
I am having to take down my 15gal tank at work since I will no longer be there FT. Since money is tight I have also taken down my 30gal at home. (one less set of lights, ph, filters, etc.) to be running. Now my question is, the 2 clowns I have at work, will I be ok in putting them in my 75 at home which already has two clowns? Will there be enough room, or will there be territory wars? I believe they are all oscellaris (sp?) clown fish. (the standard kind)
Thoughts? Experiences? I know I have seen tanks with tons of clowns in them before, but figured this would be different since my 2 clowns at home have known that 75 to be all theirs.

I think a 75 is big enough for 4 clowns, are they actually paired or just used to each other in the respective pairs? leaving the lights off for a day or so while introducing the new ones might help ease the transition, Moving a couple rocks around to change the landscape may help them re-establish territory

if your clowns are anything like mine, they will fight till they win. I had 4 in my 75, and anytime one of them would start hosting in something, one from the other pair would beat him up and kick him out, this got so bad that the weaker pair had chunks of skin missing all over them. I eventually separated them.
Personally, if I were you, I would not do it. I was only lucky that one pair (the beaten ones) let me catch them, probably because they wanted out so bad! However, if you do this, and you cannot catch one pair, you have a big job on your hands.

hmmm.... so maybe I do have to set up my 30 gal again. Cause I don't want to do anything that will harm either pair.

Yeah, there's a pretty good risk of trying it. Sometimes it'll work, but I hear about problems more than successes. Can't you just setup the 15 at home? That'd be a bit cheaper than the 30.

I actually hate this little 15gal. The original hood's light fixtures shorted out not long after I got it (close out item from a store), and so to get a light to work, I had to take off the top and just rest a light across the top. And to help minimize evap, I am using a piece of plastic over the top with a small opening. It is very pieced together. heh heh

so do you have two definate females between the 2 pairs? the dominant female will not tolerate intruders, heck, if her "mate" displeases her he is apt to get an azzwoopin. IF you do not have to definate females, you may be ok

For the tank at work, one is for sure female. (much longer) and they have been together for years. The ones at home, I think have decided on what to be. (the original female died and I had to get a new replacement clown). I am just going to have to decide what to do. I don't want to run the risk of a war with casualties. So I just need to either set up the 30gal, or find a new home for them as a pair.
