Maybe its just your area that the powder blue tangs are rare. My LFS has several of different sizes. You might try the online suppliers if you can't find one locally.

Inland has them at http://www.inlandaquatics.com/prod/p...fish_pricelist

as does Jeff's
http://www.exoticfish.com/

I have not purchased from either, but I am sure others have.

Good luck and let us know what you get

A. leucosternon are not the easiest tangs to keep. Some have no trouble but for others they are a heartbreak

Crickit;

I wouldn't try a Powder Blue in a 55, it just doesn't provide enough room for the fish. They are very active swimmers and difficult fish to keep, the combination of the two usually does not lead to a happy outcome

Good fish for a 55 fish only could include hawkfish, clownfish, dwarf angels, fairy wrasses or wrasses under 6". All kinds of blennies and gobies to choose from; firefish, jawfish, cardinal fish...the list goes on. Check Scott Michael's book, lots of good info and it's not very expensive.

HTH,

~Alice

Hey guys I had a freekin Lion (he was big) in my 180gal FO tank that consumed a large puffer and a niger trigger. I could have killed his butt, however, we deveploed a great relationship over the years. At the time he was also eating dead shrimp, oysters, claims, etc and any thing else he could get into his mouth. DONT get a lion with small fish!!!!
