Turtle Egg Laying in Pakistan

During my time in Pakistan, one of the highlights was getting to watch sea turtles climbing the beaches to lay eggs... It was an incredible experience and I figured I'd share the pics....

This is the beach...

Here's the turtle..

Yeah, it was a great experience.... It's amazing what these animals endure just to keep their species going...

Her shell was about 6 feet from back of neck to tail and about 4 feet wide...

You may be able to see in the pics that she's had some prop damage on the back left side of her shell... It just horrible to think that wild dogs came shortly after the 5-6 hours of hard work of crawling 200-300 feet up the beach, digging a 4 foot hole, laying eggs, and covering the hole, that wild dogs most likely dug up the nest for a meal.....

That's really neat Buzz. Geoff and I were walking on a beach in SC once and found a dead loggerhead (we think) sea turtle. It was very sad.

It was about 4 feet in length, not as big as the one in your pictures. Looked like net damage.

I would love to see a living one...
