Turboflotor help

I got a Turboflotor 1000 multi for Christmas to setup on the side of my sump. I set everything up like I thought is should be and plugged it in. The problem is that it seems to be pumping too much. It is filling up the collection cup with just water pretty quickly. I don't know how to adjust it or whether I am doing something wrong. Does anyone who has this setup have any insight? I did have to cut the plastic tubing to make it the right length. Please help....

Let it run for a bit...Mine did the same thing when I installed it and after duping a couple of cup out, it finnally began to work properly. If it isn't working right by Monday give Barry a call at aquamedic...he is always more than helpful. 970-461-0023

What type of pump do you have feeding the skimmer? Can you turn it down a bit? If the tank never had a skimmer on it before, it is very common for the skimmer to overflow until it has skimmer some of the organics out. One thing to try is to remove the two adjustment valve thingys, usually gray, and see if that helps.

There are two water flow ajustment knows on the skimmer make sure they are on wide open. This will stop your colletion cup problem. If you are useing there stock water return system i can show you how I changed mine, to get rid of the splashing.

I had the same problem with mine after I had used some epoxy putty to hold down some rocks. For some reason, these skimmers have problems like this where they 'go crazy' for a couple of days.
Mine was filling up the cup in a matter of minutes. I let it run, where the overflow was draining back into the skimmer body.

Took about a day to correct itself.

I can repeat it whenever I use epoxy putty.
