Turboflotor 1000/low skimmate
I have a turboflotor 1000 installed in my sump, I am getting about a 1/4 cup of pretty dark skimmate a week. From what I have read this seems pretty low. I have an oceanrunner 2500 that i got used and I am guessing it does not have the needlewheel on there. but the bubbles are pretty fine. I also have a gravity feed from the tank to the skimmer.
According to the manuals the skimmer should be filled to just below the body top when the pump is not running. What exactly is the top of the body? Would this be where the collection cup is plugged into the tube? Or would it be below the black part of the tube? Right now with the pump off the water is collecting almost level with where collection cup connects to the tube. Any other turboflotor users or just skimmers in general have some pointers?
