Tunze Streams

I'd like to add some random current flow to my tank - thinking of the Tunze streams - seems like an excellent product. Tank is a 75 with 55 sump, Mag 9 return, two t-4's in a CLS, alternating timing, 6 hr cycles with a 1 hr overlap.

Here is my question... Can I mount these off of the center brace in my tank? So far there are NO powerheads in my tank, I hate the way they look. The tank is in-wall, with nothing but the overflow and bulkheads visible in the tank. I hate looking at hardware so I had thought to suspend these (2) facing toward each end of the tank from the center brace and they may be less visible there... Any comments?

Also, what is everyone's opinion on controllable vs. not? I plan to eventually purchase an aquacontroller jr

I only have a 28 bowfront and installed the smallest nano stream. It is incredible and the entire tank gets flow.

It hangs off the side pointing at the middle of the bowfront but looks kind of pretty compared to the arrangement of maxijets I used to always have.

The magnet sticks great too. You should have no problem attaching it to your cross brace.

Here is a pic of my 180 with two Tunze 6100's in it. I love these pumps, they put out a whole lot of flow, but they are quite visable.

I don't know what you mean by mounting them from the center brace,.. but if your talking about mounting them out of the tank it won't work, they need to be submerged and they need to be a little way under the water because otherwise they will pull air from the surface.

I like my tunze products, but I'm not sure how you are going to mount them. Where is this center brace? At the top of the tank?

In terms of controllable, I like the feature, and Neptune makes a controller for the Tunze streams that interfaces with, I think, the Aquacontroller 3 and 3 pro. I'm not sure if it works with the Jr. something to look into, though.

Only the Nano-streams can be placed on a center brace, because the pump can be directed in any direction. The "normal" Stream pumps have to be placed on a vertical surface.

As long as your water level is high enough I don't see why you can't mount it to the brace. I actually had a 6025 mounted to the eurobraced for a while.
