I have bought 4 Tunze 6025's and positioned them in the 4 corners of the 75G tank. I have set them up to the PowerStrip listed above, to have the alternate corner powerheads come on and off every 2 hours (just set it up today).

I also think the powerstrip above is safe, despite people having fires. I think that any powerstrip, plug, light, etc. is at a high risk of fire when we are working with saltwater. I will be willing to bet that in most cases where there was an electrical fire with a fishtank it had to do with something flameable next to a MH light or saltwater leaking onto a "hot" wire creating a short and sparks.

I have had my 4 Tunze 6025's (un-modified) set up on the ON/OFF wavemaker now for one week. I am alternating currents with two powerheads coming on in opposite corners to create a clockwise and counter clockwise swirl every hour.

I have not had any problems with the restart with the exception of a few clicks that last 1 second or one pump in particular that may run in reverse for a few seconds (5 sec at the most) before resetting itself.

So far so good.

ANY power strip could catch fire if it gets wet. The ONLY way to prevent this is to install a ARC-Falut breaker. A GFCI will protect you from shock but WILL NOT trip when arcing. All aquariums should have a arc fault breaker for the circuit the tank is on as well as a GFCI outlet. In my opinion

Thanks CK I will look into how the arc fault breaker works and how I can install it. I am nervous about fires since I already had my 2 yr old, pull on the overflow tube to the sump which caused a drip to fall on the powercord below. I was home and could smell it, but that was on it's way to destruction. In the mean time I have raised all my Powercords off the floor and mounted them on the wall.
