If it's a gear, Been a long time since it was used, No wear pattern on it, just rust pitted, Looks like some kind of cooling fins, Looks like some kind of head of a compressor

It's actually still used for a short time, once a year. Compressors hadn't been invented when this was first put to use.

Good late morning or evening, I am home, I am beat an need a hot bath, and bed, back on the projects tomorrow, meanwhile it sems my coworker may have to have some post surgical cleanup on an old fusion he had done years ago. I had already commited to work with neighbor tomorrow when I found out so boss is outta luck, gonna have to run the store till thurs (himself)
