Tube Anemone or Aptasia ?

How can you tell the difference between these two. I have one that looks as thought it's a Tube Anemone, but I also have several Aptasias. The thing is question is a rust-dark brown in color, color is 'solid' (doesn't appear translucient) and is large about 3" or so in diameter when splayed. I aquired this as a single 'hair' from a clam which as since gone to meet his maker.

I've seen pictures of both, but this guy doesn't really fit either one.

Any ideas? Any sure fire ideas to get rid of aptasias?

Hello

Tube anemones tend to live in the sand only and not on rockwork. They also have a neon green center (mouth) with long thin flowing tentacles that you cant miss.

well which do you think it is??? I have a tube anenome that is just like the one in the pic near the bottom (the purple one.) IT has not harmed anything... ever!!! The tenticles will touch some things from time to time without any ill effects. Instead of killing him, pull him out and make a couple bucks by selling him to someone in your area.
