Well I woke up this morning and my tank almost overflowed

Luckily it filled up to the hose and then the powerhead couldn't pump more water, not sure why this happened... I may sell this Tsunami AT1 on ebay I am not sure....

How accurate is the float switch.... how low does the water level have to drop before it activates???

I just worried since it used metal contacts it might not be the best thing to use.. but maybe they are sealed very good...

They are sealed great and they are VERY precise. A little wave action in the sump causes it to turn on and off a few times.

Couldn't open your link, but like reefBoyDc said, they are very precise. They may almost be too sensitive, the pump you have it hooked up to will be turning off and on a lot.

Consider adding a sump. Check out my reef page for a general description of a gravity fed (no pumps or switches!) 5 gal water top off. It works best with a sump, but could be applied to a sumpless tank. It works great and I have never had it overfill.
