Question

true or false percs "better"?...

how can you tell the difference between true and false perculas?...

are the true percs better or is it just cool to say "I have TRUE perculas!"...?

they look the same to me...

i am looking to maybe buy a couple from a LFS that sells tank raised percs from ORA Farms...it seems unneccesary to buy a mated pair as 2 will change to a male and a female anyway...?

thoughts?...

thanks

brad

Brad, while the Percula and Ocellaris are separate species they will interbreed, tho the offspring may be sterile hybrids. Not positive on that tho.
Tank raised of either species are a good deal, and yes if you get TR from different sources one will eventually become a female, its a ? of $ vs time

hey brad-

I like true percs better. They mature to a dark orange black color that is very pretty. The ocellaris will retain their white stripes more than a perc.

Yeah...a mated pair isn't that important...but two that aren't fighting would be better.

HTH-
Brooke

My wife loves the true percs over the false like Brooke has stated:
because of the darker orange and there is a more pronounced Black lining along the fins as well. Johnny
