It's about 9 hours round trip driving 65...we are planning on leaving around 6 am, should be back around 4-5 pm.. May drive up to hang for a few after I get back.
Now, what we are going all the way there for... a perfect, rust free 1972 Comet GT hood for my father in law's bucket list car. I have a lot of work to do in a short time to get this car in decent shape.... you know how long we have been looking for one of these in this good of shape? LOL

That sounds like a cool project Tony.
Geoff, will you be there sooner if your team does poorly? There is no such thing as point shaving penalties in recreational sports is there?

Have you sent out the email message with directions and all of the information yet? If so I have not received it for some reason.

Well.. good and bad news.. the hood is not exactly rust free, and can't really discern detail from the guys pics of the actual rust on the front lip... so probably not going to drive almost 5 hours one way to get it (about an hour from Nashville) in case the rust is too deep. That's the bad news, as we are now on the hunt again for a good GT hood( you know how hard they are to come by!). The good news is that I should make the Pig Pickin will probably still be a little late as instead of driving to TN, I will instead try to finish up the carpentry on this front porch project I took on as part of my side biz that I have been working on... I have about 20 hours into it so far and I'm about 75% done, so I would like to finish that up so I can collect some Benjamins this weekend

That's awesome.. his first car was a 71 V8 car non-GT... but the only thing we could find at this time was a 72, so it will have to do (pretty much the same car)
If I ever take on a restoration project of my own, it will be something like this :
or this:
Can you tell I'm kinda the lead sled persona?

Sounds good Tony. For some reason I did not get the email, it is probably some SPAM filter somewhere blocking it.

Geoff - What Mike said about shaving points. You gotta get down here.
Tony - Good that you don't have to do that 9 hour trip tomorrow!
Tom - I'll give you a call today, so answer your phone

Looks like things are shaping up to be one heck of a cook out! I've been looking foward to this for the past year. Unfortunately I have to work and can't get out of it. Responsibility stinks.
Make sure yawl take lots of pic's. If I can't actually have a life, at least I can live vicariously through your pic's.
