ABTW Dick, nice job with PhotoShop getting my beard extra white

Sure glad you could make the trip, Jeff. It was a good time between old friends. As for the beard, no photoshop...just calls em like I sees em.

More pix from the start now that the weather has cleared enough to get an upload:
It was raining so hard when we started that the pig was getting its own "shower" with rain water
By the time we had protected the fire from the rain, the area between the house and the pit had an inch of rainwawter running through it.
Seems like every time I touched the pig, it started to rain harder, I had to pour the rainwater out of the carcass:
We finally got the fire steady and the pig in the pit and covered and ready to smoke by 7

Misc pix from the morning:
Exciting action of paint drying and the pig cooking during mid(10AM)morning...
Tony on a pig-cooking mission (both of us can do this now in our sleep)
Around 1PM folks started showing up (Tony was here, but Perry and some of the ATL crew had just gotten in)
Simon Kruger expressing his pleasure over the wet weather
Cath drops off some goodies and shows her better side
Mr T (Tiago) makes a rare public appearance
All the pix I have, I unfortunately don't think anyone took pix of the fireworks, such a shame, best year for the quality of the fireworks yet! (thanks to BOB and
Tony!)

Hey Guys!!
We're in VA, just did our first day in DC. Have been having serious connection issues but it should be resolved with the latest room change. I may try a few pictures later.
Tom and Mel, thank you SO much for hosting again, and putting on a fantastic party. It was great seeing everyone again.
Later....

I'm just glad he didn't get a picture of me when I was trying to eat that yummy icecream fast before it melted and ended up choking. Why can't anyone take a picture of me smiling? I have such a nice smile. hehe

I think you were actually wondering if you put enough coconut rum in the cup. It should also be easy to get pictures of you smiling as you usually are.

Butch!!! When you didn't post right away, I figured that you had bad connection in the hotel.
The fireworks were in fact the best yet

It was a perfect time spent with some great people i've been lucky enough to spent time with here online, and YES, we ARE like a family

It really is a special kind of friendship that we develop here. Bob was surprised that many of us have never met face to face and yet we visit like long-time buddies who see each other regularly. What a gift.

You know, Cath, I feel like I DO visit with everyone here on a regular basis, too bad the chat client doesn't seem to work any more for our Sunday night chats.
As much as I enjoyed it, after getting everything together during the week prior and the day befre, then getting up early for the fire and prepping the pig (thanks again, Tony!), I was glad when it was over. I could not sleep past 5AM Sunday morning, but I went to bed Sunday evening by 6PM and slept until 10 this (*onday) morning... My special thanks to those that brought frags, ice, beer, etc. for the kiddie pool. Fischer sends his love.
This has always been one of the reasons I enjoy the Pig Roast so much; so many folks get to meet for the first time each year, and getting to see all my old friends each year is just such a wonderful treat for me. Once again, it is my way of saying 'thanks' to all that help make TRT what it is today.
Thank you all for coming .
Lemmesee now: next year, the third Saturday in May is the 16th again...

That's so true, Cath. There's still a lot of folks here that I've known up to 10 years but have never met face to face. They're still old friends, though.

Sorry I couldn't capture a toothy grin, Traci, but I did catch your inner smile.

Can I/we kinda hold you to that date next yr Tom?
A lil too soon to pick my vacations for next yr, but if i have that weekend in the back of my mind, i'll know what week(s) to pick
I imagine the last thing you want to worry about is TomFest '10 (kinda has a nice ring to it , doesn't it? , or is it O-10?) so soon after this one
