Trochus poop?

Ok, I have never seen this before, but today, 2 of my trochus snials were emitting some kind of white stuff that looked like smoke in the water. They looked like they were on fire or something. One at one end of the tank and one at the other were doing this at the same time and it was enough to cloud the entire tank.

Anyone know what this is?

i guess I should also mention that they are very active while this is happening, scooting around as usual, so they are not dying.

Sounds like they are spawning. I'm not sure of the likelihood of any of the spawn making it to adulthood, but if you have a good sand bed or refugium were some end up, you may well have just increased your clean up crew. Keep your eyes peeled for some small snails in a couple weeks/months... it's not uncommon of to successfully raise snails in captivity.
