Trigger Huma Huma Question

Here is my tank info. 20 gal hexx, 2 aquaclear filters, thermo, 12 lbs live rock.

Question: I just bought a huma huma and it seems that he is excreating something from his body. He does it often especially when my Damsel gets close to him. I have read all kind of articles on Huma Huma and I cant find any information. The fluid looks like a transparent gas?? I know it cant be potty because it happens so often.

I know that this is a wierd question? But???

Oh Yea

Also, I watch the "gas???" leave his body and move all the way to the top of the tank. Also, I know it may not matter but he is a 1 inch fish (Small)

Welcome To TRT! You might want to ask this in the general reef discussion or if one of the mods could move it for him or her.

If you noticed, Humma Humma's often pick up sand and peppbles and spit them out and sometimes they dont get al the sand out and it has to come out somewhere. All that is the left over little bits of sand coming out that hes been eating.I had a humma humma for 2 years in my old 120gal FOWLR,They're amazing fish, so much character!!!

Another thing I might suggest is either giving up the damsel or giving up the trigger due to the fact that the larger the trigger gets the more aggresive he'll start to become and same with the damsel. My trigger was literally about 1 inch when I got him and within 2 years he grew to 6 inches!!!!They are amazing fish but the trigger is definitely a sloppy eater and that is definitely huge bioload for that size tank.

I'm definitely no trying to discourage you from keeping triggers but in that size tank your kind of limiter in which ones you can keep and what size they can be.I hope I helped you!!!!
