trace elements

how do i test for and maintian trace elements? is there anything i need to worry about when dealing with trace elements? if there is now real way to test for them, should it be considered better to add them in with the next water change i perform?
thanks in advance...

Trace elements are not a real concern with me as I get most of them with my water change and the new IO salt in it. Johnny

ok!

thx for the quick response. i was curious about trace elements because i got a bottle of the stuff inside with my test kit. but if trace elements are included with instant ocean salt, then i shouldn't have much to worry about sinse i just did a water change.

Agreed, trace elements are the stuff that occurs in minute quantities, and would require sophisticated lab to measure. A lot of the stuff sold as additives, other than calcium and magnesium supplements are for the most part not needed if one does reasonable water changes. Also using 2 part calc/alk additives or a calcium reactor with help keep the needed ones up.
Personally buying and adding special trace element supplements and exotic secret formulas is a waste of time. Most of this stuff is high profit making for whomever is sellling it, and can do more harm than good if one applies the "a little is good, alot must be better" sort of logic,JMO,FWIW
