Toxic buttons question

If buttons are toxic, how come the fish that eat them dont die? I have a damsel that is eating buttons yet he is healthy as a horse. Maybe damsels truely are indestructable.

different toxins affect different animals. are you sure the damsel is eating the polyps and not the algae growing around the polyps?

some critters will actually use the toxins that they ingest to make themselve poisonous. Dart frogs are an example of this. some nudies also do this.

Nope, no algae on this colony or anywhere in my tank. He was eating them! I pulled the colony and moved it to my nano. He damaged almost all of the polyps and they are slowly beginning to open but they are ticked!
