too much current for mushroom?

I got 2 green mushrooms when I got my ls last week. One mushroom is on tiny, tiny piece of Lr and I have him on the upper lever, towards the light. My other mushroom was cut from a piece of live rock & floated off. I found it yesterday & attached him, but he has floated off, again Do I have too much current for the mushrooms? I have 2 Emeror 400's, a skimmer and a Penguin 125 (might be 185) powerhead. I have heard they don't like a lot of current...... Also, how do I get the one w/o the rock to attach? I stuck him in a crevice next to the one stuck on the little rock, but he's gone. He had opened up before he decided to float........

Freckles,
A good way to attach shrooms is to place some rubble in a small cup in the bottom of the tank out of high flow, place the shroom in the cup, and let it attach itself to the rubble. For a larger frag, you can use a piece of bridal veil netting to hold it to a rock. I've tried rubber bands but it's hard to get them to hold the shroom without the rubber band cutting the tissue.
There's lots of posts about propagating mushrooms and a board search will give you more info.

I knew that, Kim! Sometimes my fingers don't say what my brain tells them to; or is it the other way around?

Hey Kim-

A couple things that worked for me-

1. Get some superglue GEL. Put a drop on a small rock. Take your shroom out of the water and lay face down, dab the bottom dry and put a drop on. Touch glue spot together and hold for a few seconds and then you can return it to the tank.

2. The rubble in a dish works as Dick suggested. Probably the best way but takes longest. When your shroom attaches to little pieces of rubble, then glue the rubble to a rock. voila!

3. Get some wedding veil material. Get the stuff with the largest holes in it that will still hold the shroom. Get this stuff to allow as much light and water flow as possible to get to the shroom. Loosely rap the veil around the shroom on the rock and place in low flow area for 4 days or so, it should attach itself to the rock.

4. Lazy man's(or womans) theory - Let it blow around and it will find a home. When it settles in a good spot, it will attach. This method is not recommended or guarenteed!

HTH
Good luck!
