Too many Copepods?

In an effort to try to do everything right, I bought some stuff from my local fish store to grow copepods... The instructions he gave me were to put 2 pinches every 2 days, then after the first week add 2 piches every week...

Well it worked...

I now I have thousands and thousands of copepods crawling on my glass, and my manderine goby doesn't seem to be catching up.. In fact he just stays in onespot and waits till they crawl on the glass from the and bed...

My question is, do I have too many? there probley close to 1000 on the front glass, and thats not including the side and back glass...They are all over the place...

Hello, I have a few questions?

a) what was the product?
b) How big is your system?

I have never heard of too many, maybe too many for your personal taste but I bet your mandarin is in heaven . After time it is likely that the mandarin will catch up and copepods flourish and dieback in cycles anyway. You can go one of 3 ways:-
1) Carry on as you are and see if he catches up.
2) Stop feeding the copepods and they will dieback.
3) Buy another mandarin.

1) is the safest option, as long as the additive isnt compromising water quality.

If they don't back up and there's lots a 6-line wrasse will take care of them.
BUT you don't want him eating all them cause that is bad for the manderin
SO I agree on waiting awhile and see if the manderin catches up.

Can you do that?
I put a second manderin in my tank
and had to take it out before they killed each other.

Spotted and mandarins usually don't mix, at least for me they didn't. I hear if you get a male and female of the same species, they can do okay.
